Today I
actually felt the ‘wedding hang over’ set in. I took it easy this morning
around the house. I stopped by a friend’s home with a little birthday gift and
wished her a happy birthday. We ended up visiting for about an hour and it was
so enjoyable to focus on someone else and what’s going on in her life. I’m so
blessed by the good friendships that I have in this neighborhood.
This
afternoon Lexy and I went to the store and bought some flowers for a neighbor
whose son was killed in a horrible car accident last week. He was a wonderful
young man, husband, father of 4 and in the military. He was Chad and Tyler’s
age and it was a huge shock when I learned the news. I have been thinking of
and praying for his mom and wife and their 4 children all weekend long. Lexy
and I went over tonight and shared our love and support and tears for the
passing of this remarkable young man. Life is so fragile. It can change in an
instant. We must cherish the moments we have here on the earth with those we
love, you just never know what trials will come. I’m so grateful for the Plan
of Salvation and the knowledge that families are forever through the binding
covenants of the temple. I’m so grateful for my family and the love that we
share.
